How a store connects

The merchant installs your app once. The token does not expire.

  1. Your product creates a connect session for BigCommerce
  2. The merchant opens the link and installs your app
  3. They approve the permissions: products, inventory and store information
  4. Zikkio stores the token and the store shows up as connected

Rate limits per store

Every app on a store shares one quota: 150 requests every 30 seconds on Standard and Plus, 450 on Pro. Zikkio paces its calls on the limit headers.

Price lists

Where the merchant uses price lists, Zikkio writes the price list records as well as the variant prices.

New token on changes

If the scopes or the owner’s email change, the merchant reauthorizes and your app passes the new token to Zikkio.

Can the merchant use an API account instead of an app?
Yes. It takes about ten steps in the store admin, and the token is shown only once.
What are the rate limits?
BigCommerce gives each store a quota shared by all its apps: 150 requests every 30 seconds on Standard and Plus, 450 on Pro.
Do tokens expire?
No. A token changes only when the app’s scopes or the store owner change.
